The Largest E-sports Tournament In The World Happens In Sydney, Australia

I think this year people are going to have a lot of fun with this. It’s a tournament in Sydney, Australia where everyone from different countries can compete for the Championship. It’s even a place where you can take your family to just watch the tournament as well. It sounds like a lot of fun.

Gamers can compete on titles such as Tekken 6, FIFA 11, StarCraft II, WarCraft III and Counter Strike 1.6. Round one of competition starts at 4.30pm tomorrow (April 30) at Parramatta Riverside. Competition entrants can simply register on site.

The World Cyber Games is the largest e-sports tournament in the world with over one million competitors from 90 countries around the world. This year’s program of events includes an additional round in Sydney, a round in Brisbane, Melbourne, and a final on the Gold Coast to seek out Australia’s very best in both console and PC gaming to represent Australia at the world final in Seoul later this year.

IGN Entertainment’s eSports Division Ends By The 4th of April

IGN ProLeague is a 2011 rumored StarCraft tournament to be held and organized by IGN Entertainment’s eSports division. A countdown finishing at the 4th of April and is viewable at the websites official home page. A recent blog was posted and was also confirmed that something is in the works over at IGN Entertainment. IGN also confirmed that the first tournament is gonna feature invitational players primarily from the American continent.

At the moment, There are 16 players representing 9 different North American based clans and will be competing for a prize pool of $5,000 and 4 automatic qualifier spots for IPL Season 2. The goal of the IPL is to bring a professional, polished viewing experience to fans of eSports, as well as supporting the development of eSports both nationally and internationally through a sustainable tournament system that rewards those who play in it.

In addition, they already announced top 4 finishers from the event and will be automatically qualifiers for IPL 2. IGN also emphasized that this is there test run for future events and they welcome any constructive criticism and advices from there followers cause the whole eSports team at IGN Entertainment looks forward to providing everyone with some great quality matches and an exciting tournament.

They also added that $5,000 is the maximum amount that they can give out as the prize before they could jump to a bunch of hoops with Blizzard. IGN stated that they are also currently working with Blizzard in regards to there future events. Also, not to say that $5,000 is an insignificant amount, but there future events will significantly eclipse that mark.

In regards with watching the action between players, they are working closely with Justin.tv to provide a great viewing experience for all of there viewers. In addition, they hired someone from Well Played Productions to assist with the team at Well Played Productions to assist with there post-production efforts to make the IPL as polished and professional as possible.

StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm is the second product in the StarCraft II trilogy featuring the zerg campaign and episode.
It will be released separately from the other two games and is expected to be priced as an expansion. It follows StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty chronologically and storywise.
Blizzard’s storyboard team was already working on Heart of the Swarm while Wings of Liberty’s gameplay was refined. A few missions ideas have been pitched, but nothing has been solidified yet, nor has its multiplayer.
Blizzard does not expect to release Heart of the Swarm in 2011. As of March 2011 Dustin Browder expected Heart of the Swarm to finish development in approximately one year.

Also, Heart of the Swarm is a sequel to Wings of Liberty and It focuses on Sarah Kerrigan and the development of a zerg empire. More will be seen of the Kel-Morian Combine and Umojan Protectorate.
These concept arts were shown at BlizzCon 2010 with depicts of a few number of jungle settings. Blizzard intends to release information about the Heart of the Swarm campaign next month May 2011.

Just a while ago, the premiered Russian WarCraft III player Dmitry Kostin also known as Happy, decided to switch over to StarCraft 2 and now got signed by Team Empire. According to him, He’s glad to tell, that he could play for Team Empire. He hopes that their cooperation will benefit to the success of the both sides. He also emphasized that he will play team matches and some online cups, but for now, he doesn’t have plans to play any lan tournaments in the near future but will see how it will turn out to be later on.

Also after a long negotiation with Happy, Alexander Solomonov who is famously known as StrangeR and at the same time head manager of SC2′s Team Empire specified that his team was very glad to inform about the contract signing. He also added that it’s a really important step in his StarCraft II career and it’s very pleasant for him that he chose Team Empire as his first sc2 team. He also confirmed about Happy, being the best WarCraft III player of Russia and that his skills are worldclass, undoubtedly he positively pointed out that happy will also become one of the best Players in StarCraft II.

Recently, Netease released an open beta for Blizzard Entertainment’s StarCraft II in Mainland China and with the game being so successful, they imposed an immediate release which is scheduled on April 6. According to William Ding, Chief Executive Officer of NetEase that over the past several months, they have been working closely with Blizzard Entertainment to finish our preparations for the launch of StarCraft II in China. We are looking forward to providing high-quality service and support to Chinese players, ensuring they have a great experience with StarCraft II.

John Callahan added that Blizzard Entertainment’s and NetEase’s actual future results may differ materially from those expressed in the forward-looking statements set forth with there release.
