WOW’s Vice President Talks About Starwars: The Old Republic’s Market Impact

Blizzard believes the eagerly anticipated EA/LucasArts MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic, could be the biggest shot in the arm for the genre since World of Warcraft.
Most likely, first impressions are very important for the modern day gamer. This means that games have to have powerful graphics also. SWTOR once again does not disappoint the animations in combat have been improved and the worlds are looking fresh, clean and real. Walking around these amazing worlds should be a great experience. According to Blizzard’s CEO Morhaime, he added that it is certainly a strong franchise and they already talked about it internally and from there perspective, It will going to bring a lot of new players to the MMO genre, and those players’ idea of whether or not they like this type of game is going to be determined by that experience so it has to be enjoyable in some point.

Also, with some of the biggest names in the industry jumping into the scene, MMO’s could have a renaissance in the coming years. According to rumors, Bungie one of Activision’s published developer, hes been working on with an Massive Multiplayer Online that will be competing directly with Star Wars: The Old Republic and World of Warcraft, as well as the Titan project that Blizzard Entertainment is currently developing.
